Abu Dhabi, UAE – 05 September, 2022
Hexagon Battery Regeneration (HBR), a pioneering UAE company specialising in the regeneration of industrial batteries, and Falcor Engineering & Contracting (Falcor E&C), a UAE-based energy services company, are collaborating in the regeneration of approximately 60,000 industrial batteries with a mix of capacities, for an energy client in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
In keeping with the UAE’s hosting of the COP28 Global Climate Summit in Dubai in November 2023 and the global drive to reduce carbon emissions and landfill waste, HBR’s cutting-edge battery regeneration process allows batteries to be restored to their original condition, effectively doubling the life of the assets. Over the five-year duration of the current contract, HBR will regenerate dead and low performing batteries, diverting almost 3,000 tonnes of waste from landfill, and reducing the client’s carbon footprint by over 5 million cubic metres of carbon dioxide.
Commenting on the collaboration, Mahammad Vhora, General Manager of HBR said, “We are already executing on this project with Falcor E&C, saving our client the cost of new batteries, while improving its green credentials and waste management. Sustainability has become a much more important area to companies the world over, and in the UAE, there is a significant push towards cleaner sources and uses of energy in line with the country’s net zero industrial emissions target by 2050. We are pleased to be playing our part in helping businesses conserve energy costs while also helping them have a less detrimental impact on the environment through their activities.”
Bhopinder Singh, Falcor E&C’s Project Director said, “Our partnership with HBR is producing positive results and we are well on track with the regeneration of thousands of industrial batteries on behalf of the client. This is saving the client a significant amount of cost and drastically reducing battery waste. It is extremely impressive to be working alongside a UAE company that has the technology leadership and on-the-ground technical support that HBR possesses, allowing us to provide the client with international level service.”
HBR’s technology and processes are subject to stringent trials and targets for regeneration ahead of being engaged by a client. Load testing and regeneration pass rate parameters are set and must be passed before a commercial project can start to be delivered.
